As an assignment during my Bachelor's program in Interactive Multimedia Design, we were allowed to redesign the then NMBS (old screenshot, see below). Via the link on the right you can view the prototype in Figma. During my design process I paid extra attention to consistency in color, typography, spacing and usability standards.
I didn't use too many colors on elements of little importance so that the important calls-to-actions and sections immediately stand out. I also made some subtle microinteractions so that users understand the status and flow of the app more quickly (see below).
When I arrived at Mechelen station a little later, I couldn't resist taking a picture of the ticket screen and giving myself the challenge to make a clearer design before I arrived at Antwerp station.
